Podrick Docs Security
Updated 20 October 2026
Podrick Docs keeps your documents in an encrypted library on your Mac and reads them with AI models that run on your Mac, in sandboxed parts of the app with no network access. If you find a way around that protection, we want to hear about it.
Report a security problem
Email hello@livewirelabs.com with “Podrick Docs security” in the subject. Say which version you use (Settings → Subscription), your macOS version, and the steps that show the problem. Please don’t send your own documents or your library; if a sample would help, we will ask for one made up for the purpose.
Please give us time to fix a problem before you describe it in public. We will tell you when the fix is out, and credit you if you want to be named.
What we do with a report
- We read every report, confirm we can reproduce it, and reply with what we found.
- Fixes ship as updates through the Mac App Store, to the current version of the app. Keeping automatic updates on is the simplest way to get them.
- When a problem affects people who use the app, we say so in the update’s release notes, and report it where the law asks us to.
What protects your library
- The library is encrypted; only your password, your recovery key or your Touch ID opens it. We never have any of them.
- It locks when your Mac sleeps, when the screen locks, or after the idle time you set. When the screen locks or the idle time passes, an import or notebook job in progress finishes first, behind the lock screen, unless you turn off Finish imports while locked.
- The AI models run in sandboxed processes with no network access.
- The library’s history is tamper-evident, and you can check it in Settings → Chain of Custody.
The privacy policy lists everything the app connects to.
